NBA 2K League Season Two Preview: Kings Guard Gaming
Kings Guard Gaming finished with a record of 4-10, which was good for the 17th seed in the league. Kings Guard started off the inaugural season 3-1 before struggling to find an identity and losing nine out of their last ten games.
Kings Guard retained two players heading into season two: Eric “Timelycook” Donald and Jhade “worthingcolt” Black. Timelycook averaged 13.8 PPG and 6.9 APG. worthingcolt averaged 18.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 5.8 APG.
Kings Guard had an odd start to draft day as they learned that Timelycook had been suspended for the entire 2019 season. Instead of having four selections during the draft, Kings Guard now had five selections.
Kings Guard had the third overall pick in the draft, and they selected Michael “BPTheGod” Diaz. BPTheGod is a very talented point guard who can score. However, rumors are swirling that he has already requested a trade from Kings Guard. BPTheGod does plan to play for Kings Guard until he is traded.
With the No. 22 pick, Kings Guard selected sharpshooter Waseen “BallLikeSeem” Talbet. BallLikeSeem was one of the best sharpshooters in the draft pool and will provide scoring for their offense. With Kings Guard’s last three picks, they selected Jonathan “Roman” Roman, Yusuf “Yusuf_Scarbz” Abdulla and Zachary “Zakyy610” Saruba.
All three of their last selections are talents, but Kings Guard is going to need solid contribution from one or two of them to make their season successful.
Season Two Prediction
After coming off a bad inaugural season, Kings Guard had aspirations of turning failure into success during season two. Originally, plans were trending to success when Kings Guard hired a new coach in DJ Layton and retained two talented players. Since then, Kings Guard has lost one of their retained players, and their top draft pick does not want to be in Sacramento.
There is a lot of negativity and turmoil surrounding Kings Guard right now. There is going to have to be a ton of repairs done in order to turn this ship around. Kings Guard is going to face more adversity this season than any other team.
Prediction: 3-13 regular season record, the 21st seed
