Tl;dr:

This week on the Project Esports Podcast the boys talk CWL London Drama, Call of Duty Franchising, and Riot Walkout Follow Up.

Description:

They guys kick off the podcast with a follow up to the Rick Fox / Echo Fox story. Rick Fox says that he will stay with Echo Fox, if the racist investor is ousted from the company.

With another follow up, Dylan runs us through the employee Walkout at Riot. Riot has reportedly lifted all arbitrations in new contracts, but will keep existing ones with current contracts. The employees still walked out, numbering in the hundreds in their LA office. If there is more follow up, the guys will keep you informed!

Then Andrew gives ues the breaking news, that Slasher broke, that the first 5 franchise spots sold for the new Call of Duty League. Teams will include existing Overwatch League team owners.

Keeping with Call of Duty. During the CWL London event, the crowd popped off with their chants! A little bit because they were rowdy British folk, and a majority because there was major controversy. During the game deciding match between Faze and LG, there was a game changing glitch that occured, and Call of Duty referees decided in favor of the glitch.

Then going into old school esports teams, Complexity Gaming reveals new branding and manifesto. The new branding resembles their owner’s sister team The Dallas Cowboys. Some people are praising the new look, some are skeptical. We will see what this pans out for the team going forward.

Then James gives us the business new that Capcom Forms Capcom Media Ventures for Esports and Media Licensing Business. This new branch will focus on esports and be a bit separate from the main Capcom video game development team. The guys will keep you updated as this new venture unfolds.

We got a new league announcement from OGN. OGN Super League 2019 Plan Unveiled. The first game announced is Dota’s new hit mod, Auto Chess. Other games included can be on PC, Console, Mobile, or VR. The next titles announced sounds be new and exciting.
