Project Esports – First Look at LEC, Optic Gaming Shares, and IBP Masters

This week on Project Esports, Dylan, Andrew, and James (most) of the boys get hyped over the return of the LEC and WoW Esports in 2019. After some intense marking debate over Optic Gaming shares being sold, the boys get in on some Drop Murder Bear action and round it out with some good old fashion esports celebration cringe.

This week the boys kick off the week going straight into League of Legends returning to Europe! The European League of Legends Championship Series has fully rebranded to the LEC and the boys love (most of) it. This major rebrand looks like it will pay off, with a cleaner look, and new found hype for EU LoL.

Next the boys dive DEEP into some marketing talk with the news that Optic gaming has sold majority shares. Off of the news the that company also let go a large amount of staff, could this spell disaster for them? Or just some internal reworkings?

The boys then talk about one of the best things to come out of esports, that’s right awkward award celebrations. After seeing the tragedy with the RunAways breaking their trophy, and Nicole Carpenter’s article, the boys are lead down a trip memory lane, full of the best (or worst) esports celebrations over the years.

Finally the boys round out the episode talking about favorite contenders team, The Sydney Drop Bears, and their amazing name. After talking about them becoming the best Contenders team in Australia, the boys enjoy a good laugh over their hype name. Hope you all enjoyed this week’s episode, catch you all again next week for the Project Esports Podcast.
