Project Esports – Rick Fox Leaving Echo Fox, Walkouts at Riot, and Dallas Home Game



This week on the Project Esports Podcast the boys talk Rick Fox Leaving Echo Fox, Walkouts at Riot, Dallas Home Game, and much more! Tune in for a jam packed episode full of esports!


The boys kick off this week by talking Echo Fox drama. Rick Fox has started his intention to leave Echo Fox, his namesake team, for a stakeholder’s racist statements.He disavowed that kind of behavior and wants to distance himself. Though the leave has not become official, we will see how it pans out.

Then following up on Riot Games’ sexual harassment allegations, Riot employees are staging a walk out slated for next week. The walkout is being held due to lawsuits being blocked from employees against the company. We will have more to say about this next week, after the walkout happens.

Then the boys jump into Project Overwatch, your favorite podcast within a podcast. This week Blizzard announced the Overwatch League x Bud Light partnership. This is bringing with it a huge amount of controversy amongst the hosts. The next big OWL news is the Dallas home games. There was no doubt the crowd was huge, time will tell if this spells good news for home games next year. Then the boys wrap up Project Overwatch with Overwatch World Cup. With OWWC announced that means positions are now open to candidates who want to participate and help run these teams!

Then onto Hearthstone news, Hunterrace won HCT 2019. THe tournament took place in Taipei City, Taiwan. The event flew mostly under the radar, so Blizzard has a lot of work to do in igniting Hearthstone esports again.

During the Fortnite Collegiate finals, winning team stated they no longer want to play the game and thing Epic is leading the game in a poor direction. Like most things, this sparks a heated argument amongst the boys.

Then James leads everyone in the huge controversy with Dragon’s Gate. The team was reported to be involved with match fixing. The owner recently spoke out to these claims.

The nights honorable mentions include: Team Vitality establishing esports facility in Paris and Cloud9 signing an all Brazilian Apex Team.
